Columbia Police Department officers were actively searching for Sims who was missing since Christmas and were able to arrest Taylor Wardlaw in connection with the death of his friend. According to officials, Eddie Brown (30), has been arrested as an accessory in the murder. Sims was a 26-year-old man found at home on Ervin Street in Columbia Dec. 20. Police say that Sims his girlfriend Wardlaw was missing since December. 22. The body was found near an area of a creek along Monticello Road Wednesday, and the Richland County Coroner, Naida Rutherford, verified that the body belonged to Sims. Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook states that Wardlaw is charged with murder and possessing weapons during the course of a brutal incident. Police say Sims was killed multiple times.
